The Red Sox have won a total of eight World Series Championships: 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004, 2007, 2013. Their victory in 2004 ended am infamous 86 year championship drought after trading their star player and future Hall of Famer at the time Babe Ruth to their bitter rival New York Yankees. This drought was famously known as the curse of the Bambino. The Red Sox made it to the World Series but lost in 1946, 1967, 1975, and 1986.
